Best Free Gift Card Apps

FreeMy Staff · Updated August 7, 2026

The best free gift card app depends on how you want to earn. FreeMy and Swagbucks suit people willing to complete sponsored offers, Survey Junkie and Google Opinion Rewards focus on surveys, Rakuten and Fetch reward shopping activity, and Mistplay centers on mobile games.

We reviewed each platform’s public product and help information for US users. We did not complete an independent redemption test for every app, so the table separates documented operating details from first-hand payout claims.

Our answer-first shortlist

Choose by behavior, not by the biggest advertised reward. FreeMy is the direct fit for users who want sponsored offers with visible requirements. Survey Junkie is the clearest survey-first option in this group. Google Opinion Rewards is the lightest commitment, but survey frequency is not guaranteed. Rakuten works best when you were already planning a purchase, Fetch when you reliably save receipts, and Mistplay when mobile gaming is already part of your routine.

Swagbucks offers the broadest mix, which can be useful if you want several earning methods in one account. The tradeoff is that every activity can have different crediting and eligibility rules.

How we evaluate reward apps

Our weighting favors whether the platform documents and delivers a real redemption, followed by how much work a new user must do before the first reasonable cashout. Earning variety matters, but it does not compensate for unclear payout rules or weak support.

A researched listing is not the same as a completed redemption test. Until FreeMy documents a start-to-finish test, the comparison does not assign numeric app scores or claim that one third-party app paid us.

What to verify before starting

Check the minimum redemption, available rewards, device and country restrictions, identity requirements, expiration rules, and expected delivery window before investing time. For paid trials or purchases, compare the out-of-pocket cost with the reward and set a renewal reminder.

Save the offer terms and proof of completion until the reward is delivered. If a platform hides its redemption rules or asks you to buy a gift card and share the code, stop.

  • Confirm that the earning method matches activity you already do.
  • Choose a first reward threshold you can reach without overspending.
  • Keep screenshots, receipts, and confirmation emails.
  • Test one platform at a time before stacking paid offers.

How to verify that an app actually pays

A credible app publishes operational details: what earns credit, when activity becomes pending, the minimum redemption, available reward methods, and how support handles missing credit. Screenshots and anonymous reviews can add context, but they are weaker than a documented redemption path you can reproduce.

Use our guide to gift card apps that actually pay for the evidence checklist, delay explanations, and a low-risk payout test.
